Granada - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Granada is a stunning piece that is played by all of the world's great classical guitarists. Although it doesn't receive the same recognition as Asturias or Sevilla it is no less worthy. At first listen it doesn't seem too difficult, however it is definitely a master work and it involves excellent technique to be played correctly.

Air on a G string - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Air on a G string is probably one his most loved pieces taken from a larger work 'Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068'.
The piece itself has a gentle yet enchanting melody and here it is transposed down one tone from D major to C major. Technically the piece isn't overly demanding although there is a difficult 5 fret stretch in bar 2 and an optional if not ambitious cross-string trill at the end for guitarists that truly wish to test their technique.

Vals Venezolano - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Antonio Lauro was an awesome Venezuelan guitarist and composer. This particular waltz is also known as 'Natalia'. It seemed that Lauro had a fondness for naming his waltzes after women.
This piece is taken from his collection know as 'Quattro Vals Venezolanos' meaning 'Four Venezuelan Waltzes'.

Study in B minor, Op. 35 - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Study in B-minor by Fernando Sor is a beautiful piece written during the 19th century. It is without a doubt a very popular piece and is one of those studies that seems to have risen above a study to cement itself firmly in the repertoire of early intermediate and advanced guitarists alike.
Julian Bream cites this as one of the pieces he played at his first unplanned recital at a classical guitar society get-together in England many years ago.

Study in A minor - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Study in A minor is an unassuming piece written by the Spanish classical virtuoso Dionisio Aguado. He was a contemporary of Fernando Sor and even lived with him for a time in Paris.
Aguado was known for his speed and technique especially with scale runs. This piece will definitely help to develop your speed and understanding of planting fingers with the picking hand.

Spanish Romance - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Spanish Romance is without a doubt one of the most iconic pieces in the classical guitar repertoire. Its history has been speckled with conjecture as to who actually wrote that piece.
After I learned this piece I realised I wanted that guitar playing is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
Starting off in E minor and then moving to E major the piece knows how to build and play upon the emotions of the listener & the performer. I still play this piece almost every day.

Sons de Carillhões - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Sons de Carillhões or ‘Sounds of Bells’ was composed by João Pernambuco - a brilliant Brazilian composer, guitarist, and singer from the early part of the 20th century.
He composed over 100 known works and is often considered to be as influential as his fellow countryman Heitor Villa-Lobos for establishing the 'sound' of Brazilian guitar.
I first learned this piece in the 90s as part of my first year recital for university. My teacher William Bower suggested it and I’m so glad he did!

Sevilla - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Isaac Albeniz was a brilliant Spanish composer from the latter part of the 19th century. Sevilla is one of his livelier and immediately catchy compositions from the Suite Española Op. 47.
It features the somewhat unusual G6 open tuning where the 6th string is down to D and the 5th string is down to G.
6 - D
5 - A
4 - D
3 - G
2 - B
1 - E

Prelude No. 7, Op. 28 - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
The melody of this ultra-recognisable piece is simple yet exquisitely beautiful and the entire piece almost seem to be over before it is done. Because the Prelude Op. 28, No. 7 is such a short piece I have taken extra time to explain some performance ideas to help make the piece more attractive to the listener.

Prelude in A minor - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
This tiny little Prelude is really more of a technical exercise than a fully-fledged piece. Great for developing speed and accuracy for the P, i, m, i right-hand pattern.
Matteo Carcassi was a virtuoso Italian guitarist and a prolific composer during the early Romantic period. During his lifetime he made considerable contributions to the development of modern classical guitar technical fundamentals. In a somewhat sad twist of fate his achievements were often overshadowed by those of Ferdinando Carulli.

Moonlight Sonata - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Although we all know Ludwig Van Beethoven was a pianist and composer extraordinaire what is less well-known is that many great transcriptions of his beautiful and enduring pieces have been transcribed for guitar.
I have assembled a beautiful collection of four of his most recognisable pieces arranged for classical guitar.
Adagio Cantabile
Fur Elise
Moonlight Sonata
Ode to Joy

Malaguena Facil - Free Classical Guitar Tabs
Malagueña Facìl by Francisco Tárrega is played by almost every guitarist although most people only play the first few bars. When I learned it my teacher called it 'Mexican Hat Rag'.
Francisco Tárrega was a true hero of the guitar with a prolific compositional output rivalled by few guitarists even today. In addition to being a wonderful composer he was also a brilliant virtuoso responsible for almost single-handedly developing modern classical guitar technique and establishing a solid repertoire.
